March 1, 2016 Shed Dance – Mexican Fiesta
Hey Pedro last week I went to a shed dance at Darlingford Waters Boat Club. I was there with about 80 of my friends. We danced to a great 4 piece band and had Nachos and Tortillas to eat.
Yes it was a great night. There were about 80 members and friends in attendance. The activities committee did a fantastic job in converting the “Big Shed” into a Mexican Fiesta shed. The usual trio of Wade, One R (Gary Crump) and Two Rs (Garry Forden) worked their magic with the movable walls and screens. Jennie Storey made about 100 paper flowers plus a number of other decorations to give the night a real Fiesta feel. Jennie was assisted by committee members and a number of other club members in completing the decorating. There was plenty of Mexican style food for supper.
Because of the relatively low numbers the committee has to make a decision as to whether it is viable to provide supper at future events. As happened at sail past it is almost impossible to get members to confirm their attendance which makes the task of catering very difficult. Thank you to those members who did actually indicate their intentions to attend.
We would like to hear from members as to what type of functions they would like to have and whether they think catering for these has any merit.
The committee is there to facilitate entertainment for the members. Please let us know what you want.
