Darlingford Waters Boat Club

June 30, 2016 Winter diving at Darlingford

The November storm proved too much for the mild steel cables securing our marinas – with some of the cables breaking and concrete mooring blocks lost. Interestingly none of the stainless steel cables which were in place broke during the storm – testament to their strength and durability.

In the effort of continual improvement and safety the club is replacing all the mild steel cables with new stainless steel cables. This will ensure that our marinas, and houseboats, are as safe as possible, and also protects us from losing further valuable mooring blocks.

Showing what Darlingford is all about one of our members, Simon Cox, donned his diving gear to help swap cables. This was in the middle of a very cold winter. Thank you Simon.

In time all the old mild steel cables will be replaced with stainless steel ensuring the stability of our marinas – and that Darlingford Waters Boat Club facilities continue to be the best on Lake Eildon.
